ESPN Plus Is Now ESPN Select: Price, What You Get, and How to Switch
ESPN+ did not shut down: subscribers became ESPN Select at $13.99 a month. What Select and the $31.99 Unlimited plan include, bundle prices, and the switching rules.
If you are looking for ESPN+, it has not shut down. ESPN’s support pages say existing ESPN+ subscribers “will remain subscribers of the ESPN Select plan and continue to enjoy access to all ESPN+ content,” and ESPN+ is now “a network with content that is exclusive to ESPN Select and Unlimited subscribers.” As of October 7, 2026, ESPN Select is $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year, and ESPN Unlimited, which adds the ESPN cable networks and ESPN on ABC, is $31.99 a month or $319.99 a year. This guide lays out what each plan includes, what the Disney+ and Hulu bundles cost, and the switching rules that work differently in each direction, all from ESPN’s and Disney’s own help pages. The cancel paths are in our ESPN Unlimited and Select cancellation guide.
The quick answer
- ESPN+ is ESPN Select now. “ESPN Select is the subscription plan that consists entirely of ESPN+ content.” Existing ESPN+ subscribers were moved onto it
- Select: “$13.99/Month” or “$139.99/Year” for “the full ESPN+ library,” which ESPN counts as “30,000+ events”
- Unlimited: “$31.99/Month” or “$319.99/Year” for everything in Select plus the ESPN networks and ESPN on ABC
- Old price kept for a while: “Anyone who subscribed before August 20, 2026, will retain that price until their first billing date after September 17, 2026”
- Bundles: Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select from $21.99 a month; with ESPN Unlimited from $35.99. The bundles carry the ESPN plan “With Ads”
- Switching: up to Unlimited “takes effect immediately” with a prorated charge; down to Select “takes effect on your next billing date”

What happened to ESPN+
ESPN rebuilt its streaming lineup in August 2025 around two plans, and ESPN+ became the name of the content library inside them rather than a plan you buy. The support article Is ESPN+ going away? answers in one word and then explains: “No. Existing ESPN+ subscribers will remain subscribers of the ESPN Select plan and continue to enjoy access to all ESPN+ content.” A companion article on the difference between ESPN+ and ESPN Select puts it this way: “ESPN+ is available to fans in both our ESPN Select and Unlimited Plans. ESPN Select includes ESPN+ content only.”
So if your bank statement, your Roku, or your Apple subscriptions list still says ESPN+, the thing being billed is now called ESPN Select, and the login is the same MyDisney account.
ESPN Select: the ESPN+ library at $13.99
ESPN’s plans page lists “ESPN Select Monthly Subscription $13.99/Month” and “ESPN Select Annual Subscription $139.99/Year.” The content article says “ESPN Select includes the full ESPN+ library,” with “30,000+ events, including every match from LALIGA and FA Cup, as well as season-long PGA TOUR coverage, NHL games,” and a selection of other sports.
What Select does not include is the part people most often expect: the ESPN cable channels. Monday Night Football on ESPN, a College GameDay broadcast, or a game on ESPN2 is not in the Select plan. Those are the Unlimited tier.
ESPN Unlimited: the networks, at $31.99
The plans page lists “ESPN Unlimited Monthly Subscription $31.99/Month” and “ESPN Unlimited Annual Subscription $319.99/Year.” The What is ESPN Unlimited? article gives the full network list: “This plan includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes, SECN, ACCN, ESPN+, ESPN on ABC, SECN+, ACCNX, NFL Network, and CW Sports,” plus “studio shows like SportsCenter, First Take, and College GameDay.”
One caveat matters if you did not buy Unlimited from ESPN directly. If you activate it through a cable or streaming TV provider, “you may not receive certain ESPN Unlimited content if your TV provider does not carry such content.” The plan name is the same; the channel list follows your TV package.
The price step that the dates explain
ESPN raised both prices in August 2026 and wrote the transition into the plans page: “Anyone who subscribed before August 20, 2026, will retain that price until their first billing date after September 17, 2026.” By October, every subscriber has had at least one billing date after September 17, so the old prices are gone for everyone. Our streaming price guide tracks that increase alongside Disney+, Hulu, and the others.
The bundles, and the oddity in them
ESPN’s bundle article opens with the line that explains the whole renaming: “ESPN+ is now a network with content that is exclusive to ESPN Select and Unlimited subscribers.” The prices live on the Disney+ price page:
- Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle: “Monthly: $21.99,” with Disney+ and Hulu with ads and “ESPN Select (With Ads)”
- Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Premium: “Monthly: $32.99,” ad-free Disney+ and Hulu, ESPN Select still with ads
- Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle: “Monthly: $35.99,” with “ESPN Unlimited (With Ads)”
- Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle Premium: “Monthly: $44.99”
- With NFL+ Premium: the Unlimited bundles are “$45.99 monthly” and “$54.99 monthly”
The arithmetic is the oddity. ESPN Unlimited alone is $31.99; the bundle that adds Disney+ and Hulu with ads is $35.99, a $4 difference. ESPN Select alone is $13.99; its bundle is $21.99, an $8 difference. Two more rules from the bundle article: “No, there currently isn’t a free trial for any of the bundle plans,” and “There is no single streaming app for bundle subscriptions,” so you still open the ESPN app for games.
The Disney+ page also lists a “Disney+ Premium, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Legacy” at $27.99 that is “no longer available to purchase or switch into on Disney+.” If you have it, the page says you keep it as long as you do not cancel or change it.
Switching plans: two directions, two speeds
The switching article is short and asymmetric. Up: “If you are changing from the Select plan to the Unlimited plan, the change takes effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the first month or year of your new plan.” Down: “If you’re changing to the Select plan, the change takes effect on your next billing date.” And on billing terms: “Once you’ve been charged for an annual plan, you will not be able to switch to monthly billing for the same plan immediately.”
Who can switch where depends on who bills you. The managing article says “ESPN select and unlimited subscriptions are direct purchases on ESPN.com,” and that if your subscription “was billed through a third party, such as Apple or Google, etc., you must visit the third-party partner’s website to manage or review your subscription options.” Bundle subscribers manage through Disney+ or Hulu, and the bundle article adds a timing rule for anyone dropping ESPN from a bundle: “You must wait until your ESPN subscription billing cycle ends to switch to the Disney+, Hulu Bundle Basic or Disney+, Hulu Bundle Premium plans.” If Roku bills you, the Roku path is in our ESPN on Roku guide.
Where the documents disagree or leave gaps
Two update dates for one answer. The articles that say ESPN+ is not going away were last updated August 21, 2025; the Select description was updated August 25, 2026, and the plans page October 5, 2026. The older pages still describe the plan correctly, but they predate the August 2026 price increase.
“ESPN+” means two things. On the bundle and difference pages, ESPN+ is a content library inside Select and Unlimited. In app stores and on statements, it may still be the name of the subscription you pay for. Both refer to the same $13.99 plan.
Bundle ESPN is “With Ads”; standalone ESPN does not say. The Disney+ page labels the ESPN component of every bundle “(With Ads).” ESPN’s own plans page lists no ad tier for standalone Select or Unlimited, so there is no published ad-free version to compare.
Unlimited through a TV provider is not always Unlimited. The network list is ESPN’s; what you can actually stream after activating through a provider depends on that provider’s carriage, per ESPN’s own note.
No annual price for bundles. ESPN sells Select and Unlimited annually; the Disney+ bundle page lists the ESPN bundles monthly only.
Before you pay or switch
This is a sequence of checks, not a recommendation:
- Find out what you already have. A TV package that includes ESPN may already carry ESPN Unlimited; the sign-up article tells you to check with your provider first
- Decide whether you need the channels or the library. Games on ESPN, ESPN2, or ABC need Unlimited; the ESPN+ library is Select
- Price the bundle against the standalone. Unlimited plus Disney+ and Hulu with ads is $4 more than Unlimited alone; Select’s bundle is $8 more
- Check who bills you before switching. Direct ESPN subscriptions change on ESPN.com; Apple, Google, Roku, and bundle subscriptions change where they were bought
- Time a downgrade. Moving to Select waits for the next billing date, and an annual plan cannot be flipped to monthly right after it charges
- Keep the login. The same MyDisney credentials work across ESPN, Disney+, and Hulu, and there is no single bundle app
