Howply publishes practical guides about signing up for, using, and canceling subscriptions and memberships, refunds, and billing problems. Getting these details right is the whole point of this site, so here is exactly how each guide is made.
Where our information comes from
Every guide is built from official, primary sources: the company's own help documentation, regulator publications such as the FTC's consumer guidance, and payment network policies. We do not source facts from forums, social media, or other blogs, and we link only to official destinations. Each guide names the official pages it was verified against.
How we verify
Each guide is researched and drafted with AI assistance, then checked against the official pages it cites before it is scheduled. Every timeline, fee, step, date, and quotation is compared with the text of those pages, and an automated check flags any quoted passage that cannot be found in the source. Howply is responsible for this process and for corrections. Guides publish on a schedule once they pass these checks, without a separate manual read-through. Each guide names the official pages it was checked against. When a company changes its process, we update the guide and note the revision rather than leaving stale instructions online.
What we do not do
Our guides explain how processes work and where the official paths are. They are not financial or legal advice. We currently run no sponsored content; if we ever add advertising or affiliate relationships, they will be clearly labeled.
