Meta One Explained: Core vs Premium, Single App Plans, and How to Cancel

Meta One is the subscription Meta announced on September 15, 2026 for Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI. For individuals it comes in two bundles, Core at $7.99 a month and Premium at $19.99, plus three single-app plans: Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at $3.99 each and WhatsApp Plus at $2.99. Every personal plan is sold only inside the mobile apps and billed by Apple or Google, which decides where you cancel, and Meta’s help pages say that if you cancel “you won’t receive a credit or refund unless required by law.” This guide puts the prices, the eligibility rules, the billing mechanics, and the cancellation path side by side from Meta’s plans page, its newsroom post, and seven Meta and WhatsApp help articles, read on October 7, 2026.

The quick answer

  • Prices (US, per month): Instagram Plus $3.99, Facebook Plus $3.99, WhatsApp Plus $2.99, Meta One Core $7.99, Meta One Premium $19.99. Creator and business bundles start at $14.99
  • What Core adds: all three single-app plans in one price (the three bought separately come to $10.97, our arithmetic) plus “More AI usage” in Meta AI; Premium is Core with “Expanded AI usage”
  • Where you buy: personal plans only in the Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, or Meta AI mobile apps; “Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device.” There is no web price
  • Who can buy: a personal account in the app you subscribe from; business Pages and Instagram professional business accounts “aren’t eligible to subscribe to Meta One Premium.” The subscription covers accounts “linked to the same Accounts Center”
  • Availability: the newsroom says “now available globally”; the help articles say Meta One “is currently in limited testing and isn’t available everywhere yet.” If you do not see it, you are not eligible yet
  • Cancel: from the same app, device type, and Apple or Google account you bought with, “at least 24 hours before your current billing period ends.” Access runs to the end of the cycle; a verified badge goes with it

What Meta One is, and what happened to Meta Verified

Meta’s September 15 announcement describes “a new subscription service that brings more value to the apps and experiences billions of people already use” and says the plans “are rolling out gradually, with more than 50 features launched and 15 million subscriptions and trials to-date.” The single-app plans launched earlier in the year; the new part is the bundles. The post is explicit that the free apps stay free: “The core experience across our apps and Meta AI will stay free.”

Meta Verified did not disappear; it moved. The Meta Verified page now opens with “Meta Verified features are now available in Meta One”, and the newsroom lists the creator and business side of Meta One as Essential (starting at $14.99 a month), Advanced ($49.99), Expert ($149), and Max ($499), with the verified badge and impersonation protection sitting in Essential. The Meta Verified page still sells Standard at “$14.99/month per profile” and Plus at “$49.99/month per profile”, so a creator currently sees two names for similar price points. Our social subscriptions price comparison covers that overlap.

The plans and what the bundles save

The plans page lists Core at “$7.99/month” and Premium at “$19.99/month”, with Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at “$3.99/month” each and WhatsApp Plus at “$2.99/month”. The Premium article describes the bundle logic: Core means you “Get access to a bundle of Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus at a discounted price compared to subscribing separately.” Separately the three cost $10.97 a month, so Core is $2.98 less, or $35.76 a year, before counting its extra Meta AI allowance (our arithmetic). Premium is $12 a month above Core, and the only thing that money buys is “Expanded AI usage across eligible Meta technologies” for image and video generation and editing. If you do not generate images or video with Meta AI, Premium has nothing for you that Core lacks.

The page adds a caution that applies to every number here: “Features, plans, availability and pricing may vary by region, app and account.”

Where you buy it, and why there is no web discount

For personal plans the plans page says plainly “Subscribe using your mobile app.” The subscribe article lists the surfaces: the Meta AI, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp Business mobile apps, and “Meta Business Suite for web” for business plans. Payment never goes to Meta directly: “Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device.”

That is the opposite of Meta Verified, whose page offers Standard “on web for a discounted price” because web sales avoid app-store fees. Meta One has no web checkout for individuals, so there is no cheaper price to find; what you see in the app is the price. It also means your subscription lives in your Apple or Google account, with every consequence that brings for cancellation and refunds below.

Who is eligible

The subscribe article’s checklist: “You must be in a country where Meta One is available”, a supported mobile app on iPhone or Android, and the plan applies to “Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp accounts that are linked to the same Accounts Center.” The Premium article adds that you need a personal account on the app you subscribe from, and “Business accounts such as Facebook Pages or Instagram professional business accounts aren’t eligible to subscribe to Meta One Premium.” WhatsApp Plus has its own rules: “Have a phone number from a country where WhatsApp Plus is available,” and “Only one WhatsApp Plus subscription can be purchased per WhatsApp account.”

Billing: the renewal date, the 31st, and failed payments

Meta’s billing article sets the rhythm: “You’re charged on the same date each month as your original purchase date.” Subscribe on the 31st and “you’re charged on the last day of that month instead” in shorter months. A failed card does not end the plan at once: “If you don’t have a backup and your payment fails, you may get a short grace period to fix the issue before your subscription is canceled.”

Free trial rules

A trial is offered to some new subscribers, and WhatsApp’s billing article is direct about the end of it: “You’re automatically charged the monthly subscription fee when your trial ends.” The cancellation article adds two rules worth knowing. “If you cancel during the free trial, you won’t be charged.” And a canceled trial does not reset: “If you cancel and re-subscribe to Meta One before the trial ends, your original trial end date will still apply.” Also: “The free trial may not be available in all regions.” Our guide to canceling a free trial early covers what happens to access when you do.

How to cancel

Use the same door you came in. The manage article requires the same platform, “Same device type (iPhone or Android)”, and “Same account (Apple ID or Google account)”, and warns “If you use a different account, you won’t see your Meta One subscription.” Subscribed through Instagram on an Android phone with a Google account? Cancel from Instagram, on Android, signed into that Google account.

In WhatsApp: Settings, then Subscriptions, then Meta One, scroll down to Cancel subscription, and “Follow the prompts, then tap Complete cancellation.” The cancellation article says the same can be done from the Facebook and Instagram apps, or “directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by managing your subscriptions in your store account settings.” Our guides to canceling subscriptions on iPhone and on Google Play cover that route step by step.

Timing and what you keep. Cancel “at least 24 hours before your current billing period ends.” Afterward, “If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of your billing cycle.” Two things do not help: “Signing out of your account or deleting an app doesn’t cancel your Meta One subscription.”

Refunds. The cancellation article’s rule is “If you cancel your subscription, you won’t receive a credit or refund unless required by law.” Because Apple or Google took the payment, any refund request goes through the store, where our App Store refund guide applies.

The badge. For creator and business plans, “A verified badge is tied to an active subscription. If you cancel, the verified badge is removed from your account at the end of your billing period.”

Where the documents disagree or leave gaps

Global, or limited testing? The September 15 newsroom post says “Meta One plans are now available globally”. Three weeks later, three help articles still open with “Meta One is currently in limited testing and isn’t available everywhere yet.” and the plans page says “Meta One is not available in all regions.” The subscribe article resolves it in practice: “If you don’t see Meta One as an option, it may not be available to you yet.”

Mobile only, except when it is not. The plans page tells individuals to “Subscribe using your mobile app,” while the subscribe article lists “Meta Business Suite for web” as a place to buy. Read that as web checkout for business plans only.

Two tier ladders for creators. Meta Verified’s page prices Standard, Plus, Premium, and Max at $14.99, $49.99, $149.99, and $499.99; the Meta One announcement prices Essential, Advanced, Expert, and Max at $14.99, $49.99, $149, and $499 “starting at.” Check the plan name on the screen you are paying from.

Refunds: Meta’s rule and the store’s. Meta says no refund “unless required by law,” but the money went through Apple or Google, each of which runs its own refund request process. Meta’s statement describes what Meta will do, not what the store might.

How much is Meta One? Core $7.99 a month, Premium $19.99. Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are $3.99 each, WhatsApp Plus $2.99. Creator and business bundles start at $14.99.

Is Meta One worth it over the single plans? Core costs $2.98 a month less than the three single plans combined and adds Meta AI usage (our arithmetic). Premium’s extra $12 buys only expanded AI image and video generation.

Can I buy Meta One on the web? Not as an individual; the plans page says “Subscribe using your mobile app.” Business plans appear in Meta Business Suite on the web.

Does Meta One replace Meta Verified? Meta says “Meta Verified features are now available in Meta One”, and the creator and business bundles include the verified badge. The Meta Verified page still sells its own plans.

How do I cancel Meta One? From the same app, device type, and Apple or Google account you subscribed with, at least 24 hours before renewal, or in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Will I get a refund if I cancel? Meta’s rule: “you won’t receive a credit or refund unless required by law.” Refund requests go to Apple or Google, which processed the payment.

What happens to my badge if I cancel? It is removed at the end of the billing period.

Why can’t I see Meta One? Meta’s articles call it “limited testing”; if the option is missing, it has not reached your account or country yet.

Bottom line

As of October 7, 2026, Meta One is a mobile-only, app-store-billed subscription: $2.99 to $3.99 for one app’s extras, $7.99 for all three with more Meta AI, $19.99 for the most AI. Its rules are the app store’s rules: same device and account to manage it, cancel a day before renewal, access to the end of the cycle, and refunds only where the store or the law provides them. Decide whether you want the AI allowance or just one app’s features before you pick a tier, and add the plan to our free Subscription Tracker so the renewal date does not surprise you.
