Google AI Plus vs Pro vs Ultra: Price, Usage Limits, and the Bundles
Google AI Plus is $4.99, AI Pro $19.99, AI Ultra $99.99 or $199.99 a month. Usage multiples, context windows, models after October 9, and the bundled YouTube value.
Google sells its consumer AI in four steps, and the price of each step buys two different things: more Gemini, and a bundle of other Google products. As of the pages read October 7 and 8, 2026, Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month for twice the free usage and 400 GB of storage; AI Pro is $19.99 for four times the free usage, the Pro model, a 1 million token context window, 5 TB of storage and a YouTube Premium Lite plan; AI Ultra is $99.99 or $199.99 for five or twenty times Pro’s usage, Deep Think, 20 TB or more of storage and full YouTube Premium. Since YouTube sells Premium Lite alone for $8.99 and Premium for $15.99, by our arithmetic the AI and storage in Pro cost $11 a month and in Ultra $84 or $184. This guide lays out the four tiers, the limits behind the multiples, the October 9 model change, and the bundle math. The October 9 change itself is covered in our Gemini model access guide, and the three-company comparison in our AI plans comparison.
The quick answer
- Free, $0: “Access to 3.6 Flash” and “Varying access to 3.1 Pro” on the plans page, but from October 9, 2026 the help center lists only Flash-Lite for accounts without a plan; “15 GB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive, and Photos”
- AI Plus, $4.99: “Get 2x higher usage access than Free,” video generation and Daily Brief, “Get 200 Google Flow Credits,” “400 GB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive, and Photos”; keeps Flash-Lite and Flash after October 9
- AI Pro, $19.99: “Get 4x higher usage access than Free,” “Higher access to Gemini 3 Pro, Deep Search, agentic capabilities, and more,” “Get 1,000 Google Flow Credits,” “5 TB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive, and Photos,” Google Home Premium Standard, a YouTube Premium Lite plan; keeps all three models
- AI Ultra, $99.99 or $199.99: “5x higher usage limits vs. AI Pro” or “20x higher usage limits vs. AI Pro,” Deep Think, “Get 10,000 or 25,000 Google Flow Credits,” “Cloud storage starting at 20 TB across Gmail, Drive, and Photos,” Google Home Premium Advanced, full YouTube Premium, Project Genie
- Context windows: “32k tokens” without a plan, “128k tokens” on Plus, “1 million tokens” on Pro and Ultra
- Our math: Pro minus the $8.99 YouTube Premium Lite it includes is $11.00; Ultra 5x minus the $15.99 YouTube Premium it includes is $84.00

Plan lines from Google’s AI plans page; usage multiples, context windows and model access from the two Gemini Apps Help articles; YouTube prices from YouTube’s plans page. Read October 7 and 8, 2026.

Free: one model from October 9
The plans page still describes the free tier as “Access to 3.6 Flash” and “Varying access to 3.1 Pro,” with image generation and editing, Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas, Gems, limited Google Flow access, Gemini Notebook and “15 GB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive, and Photos.” The help center’s change notice narrows that from October 9, 2026: accounts without a plan get Flash-Lite only. The limits article sets the free context window at “32k tokens.”
AI Plus: $4.99 for double
AI Plus is the entry step: “$4.99 / month” and “Get 2x higher usage access than Free.” The plans page adds “video generation and Daily Brief,” “Get 200 Google Flow Credits,” “More access to Nano Banana in Search,” more Audio Overviews in Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Gmail and Vids, and “400 GB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive, and Photos.” It is sold in “more than 160 countries and territories.” After October 9, Plus keeps Flash-Lite and Flash but loses the Pro model, with Google saying Plus subscribers will get an email with their date. The context window is “128k tokens.”
AI Pro: $19.99 for the Pro model and the first bundle
AI Pro is “$19.99 / month” with “Get 4x higher usage access than Free.” The Gemini side: “Higher access to Gemini 3 Pro, Deep Search, agentic capabilities, and more,” “Get 1,000 Google Flow Credits,” Jules and Google Antigravity entry limits, “5x more Audio Overviews” in Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Gmail, Docs and Vids, and “Access Chrome auto browse to help complete tasks for you.” The context window moves to “1 million tokens,” and Pro keeps all three models after October 9.
The bundle side is what separates Pro from the other AI companies’ $20 tiers. “5 TB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive, and Photos.” Google Home Premium Standard, “30 days of event history and Gemini features.” And a “YouTube Premium Lite plan,” described as “Most videos ad-free, offline, and in the background,” which YouTube’s own plans page sells alone at $8.99 a month. The footnote to read: “The YouTube Premium Lite plan included in this bundle won’t activate if you already have an equivalent or YouTube Premium subscription.” If you already pay YouTube, that part of the bundle is worth nothing to you.
AI Ultra: two prices, Deep Think, and full YouTube Premium
AI Ultra is listed as “Starting at:” “$99.99 / month,” with two tiers: “$99.99 / month: 5x higher usage limits vs. AI Pro” and “$199.99 / month: 20x higher usage limits vs. AI Pro.” Because Pro is four times Free, by our arithmetic Ultra 5x is twenty times the free allowance and Ultra 20x is eighty times. Ultra adds “first access to advanced features like Deep Think and Gemini Spark,” “Get 10,000 or 25,000 Google Flow Credits,” the highest Jules and Antigravity limits, Project Genie (“Create and explore interactive worlds in realtime with our breakthrough Genie 3 world model”), Google Home Premium Advanced (“24/7 video history, event descriptions, and more”), “Cloud storage starting at 20 TB across Gmail, Drive, and Photos,” and the “YouTube Premium individual plan,” “YouTube ad-free, offline, and in the background,” which YouTube sells alone at $15.99. The limits article confirms the model exclusive: “Deep think (AI Ultra only) provides maximum parallel reasoning.”
What the multiples measure
Google’s multiples are usage, not features. The limits article describes “compute-based usage limits” that “refresh every 5 hours until you reach your weekly limit,” and lists the tiers as “Standard limits,” “2x higher than standard limits,” “4x higher than standard limits,” and “5x or 20x higher than AI Pro limits depending on your subscription.” When a paid subscriber hits the ceiling, “you can continue your conversation with Flash-Lite.” The feature table on the same page shows what each paid step unlocks: Daily brief, video generation, Nano Banana Pro redos and scheduled actions from Plus up; Gemini Spark from Pro up.
The bundle math
Google does not price the pieces, but YouTube does, so two subtractions are possible. Pro at $19.99 includes a YouTube Premium Lite plan that costs $8.99 on its own, leaving $11.00 a month for 4x usage, the Pro model, 5 TB and Google Home Standard. Ultra 5x at $99.99 includes YouTube Premium at $15.99, leaving $84.00; Ultra 20x leaves $184.00. The storage and Google Home components have their own prices on other Google pages that this guide did not read, so the subtraction stops at YouTube. The billing terms are on the plans page: “Cancel anytime. No refunds for partial billing periods, except as required by applicable law.” The cancel path runs through Google One, covered in our Google One cancellation guide.
Where the documents disagree or leave gaps
Free tier models. The plans page says “Access to 3.6 Flash” and “Varying access to 3.1 Pro”; the help center’s change notice gives free accounts Flash-Lite only from October 9, 2026.
Multiples have two bases. Plus and Pro are “than Free”; Ultra is “vs. AI Pro.” Our 20x and 80x figures convert Ultra to the free base.
No numbers behind the limits. Google publishes multiples, not message counts, and says limits “may change without notice.”
Bundled YouTube can be worth zero. The Lite plan in Pro “won’t activate” for anyone who already has Premium or an equivalent.
Age gate. The footnote says “Certain AI benefits are only available for those aged 18+.”
Google One sells a bigger AI Plus. Google One’s plan picker, read October 10, 2026, lists “Google AI Plus (2 TB)” at “$9.99/mo” beside “Basic (100 GB)” at “$1.99/mo” and “Google AI Pro (5 TB)” at “$19.99/mo.” The Gemini subscriptions page, read the same day, lists AI Plus at $4.99 with 400 GB. Both pages are live, so the AI Plus tier comes in two storage sizes depending on where you buy it, and only the Gemini page shows the $4.99 one.
Before you choose
This is a sequence of checks, not a recommendation:
- Decide whether you need the Pro model. From October 9 it is on AI Pro and Ultra only; Plus keeps Flash
- Subtract the YouTube plan you already pay for. If you have Premium, Pro’s bundled Lite adds nothing
- Count the storage you use. 400 GB on Plus, 5 TB on Pro, 20 TB on Ultra, against the 15 GB free
- Treat Ultra as 20x or 80x Free, not 5x or 20x. The Ultra multiples are against Pro
- Check the age footnote for a family account. Some AI benefits are 18 and over
- Note the no-refund rule before an upgrade. No refunds for partial billing periods

Bottom line
