If your information was involved in the December 2024 Lands’ End data incident, you have until October 22, 2026 to claim benefits from a class action settlement, and an earlier date, October 7, if you want to opt out instead. The settlement website says “The only way to receive benefits or payments from this Settlement is by submitting a valid and timely Claim Form.” This guide covers who is in, the two cash options, how to file with the Login ID and PIN on your notice, the credit monitoring codes that were mailed, and the opt-out deadline that comes first.

The quick answer

  • Who is in: “All persons residing in the United States whose Private Information was compromised in the Data Incident,” identified in Lands’ End’s records
  • Credit monitoring: two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, with “$1 million of financial fraud insurance.” Enrollment codes were mailed by postcard

  • Cash Payment B: a one-time payment “expected to be $60.00,” with no proof. You pick A or B, not both
  • Claim deadline: October 22, 2026, online or by email, or mailed with a postmark that day
  • Opt-out and objection deadline: October 7, 2026, which is before the claim deadline

What the incident and the lawsuit are about

The notice says the case “is about the data security incident that impacted a portion of Lands’ End’s computer systems and that occurred in December 2024.” Files that may have been accessed include “names; dates of birth; Social Security numbers; driver’s license and/or passport information; and in limited circumstances, medical information.” The court has decided nothing about fault: “Lands’ End denies that it did anything wrong, and the Court has not decided who is right.”

Who is in the class

The class is “All persons residing in the United States whose Private Information was compromised in the Data Incident.” The home page says Settlement Class Members are “individuals identified in Lands’ End’s records,” and the notice says “You may have received a previous notice directly from Lands’ End.” Lands’ End and its directors and officers, governmental entities, the judge and court staff, and anyone who validly opts out are excluded.

If you are not sure you are in, the notice offers free help: “Call toll free, 24/7: 1- (833) 421-7243,” or email info@LandsEndDataSettlement.com.

The benefits

BenefitWhat you getWhat it takes
Credit monitoringTwo years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete: monitoring for “fraud or identity theft,” “unauthorized financial transactions,” and “personal information associated with high-risk transactions”The enrollment code from your postcard
Cash Payment ADocumented out-of-pocket losses, up to $5,000Proof such as bank statements or receipts
Cash Payment B”a one-time cash payment. This payment is expected to be $60.00”Nothing to document

The monitoring is described two ways. The notice says “All Settlement Class Members may claim Credit Monitoring and one of two Cash Payment options,” while the claim page says “All Class Members will automatically receive two (2) years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete.” Either way the practical step is the same: “Enrollment codes have been sent to all Class Members by postcard. If you no longer have your enrollment code, please contact the Administrator.”

Cash Payment A covers “losses because of identity theft or fraud,” “fees for credit reports, credit monitoring, or freezing and unfreezing your credit,” “cost to replace your IDs,” and “postage to contact banks by mail.” The notice says “You need to send proof, like bank statements or receipts, to show how much you spent or lost.” You may add your own notes, but “those notes or papers alone are not enough to make a valid claim.” And “You cannot claim a payment for expenses that have already been reimbursed by a third party.”

Cash Payment B is “Instead of the benefits in Option A,” so pick one. The paper form repeats it on the first option: “DO NOT CLAIM THIS BENEFIT IF YOU ARE CLAIMING PAYMENTS FROM SECTION III.” The $60 is an expected amount, and the notice and FAQ do not explain what could change it.

How to file

Online. The claim page says “To start your online claim form, you must login with your Login ID & PIN. You can find your Login ID & PIN at the top of the Notice that was sent to you.” If you lost the notice: “Please request your ID & PIN by providing your full name and mailing address” by emailing the administrator.

By mail or email. Download the claim form from the site, complete and sign it, and send it with any proof to the P.O. box above or by email. The claim page says “The deadline to submit a Claim Form online or by email is October 22, 2026. If you are mailing your Claim Form, it must be mailed with a postmark date no later than October 22, 2026.” The notice says the same for mail: it “must be postmarked no later than October 22, 2026.”

The form asks you to choose how to be paid, and you sign “on penalty of perjury that the information provided in this Claim Form, including supporting documentation, is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.”

The deadline that comes first: October 7

Opting out and objecting both close on October 7, 2026, fifteen days before the claim deadline. If you opt out, you “will not receive Settlement benefits or payment” but keep any right you may have to sue Lands’ End on your own. The notice says “The deadline to exclude yourself from the Settlement is October 7, 2026.” A valid request must include the name of the case, your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address, your personal signature, and the words “Request for Exclusion” or a similar clear statement. You can exclude only yourself. It “must be submitted, postmarked, or emailed by October 7, 2026,” to Lands’ End Data Incident Settlement, ATTN: Exclusion Request, P.O. Box 25226, Santa Ana, CA 92799-9958.

An objection is for people who stay in the class and want to tell the court why they dislike the settlement, and it has stricter requirements, including your history of objections in the last five years. You cannot object if you excluded yourself. If you had large losses and are weighing your own case, talk to a lawyer before October 7.

What the court still has to do

The notice says “The Court will hold a final approval on November 6, 2026, at 10:00am Central Time, in the Circuit Court for Iowa County, Wisconsin, at 222 N. Iowa Street, Dodgeville, WI 53533,” and “The date and time of this hearing may change without further notice.” You do not have to attend. On payment: “Settlement payments will be distributed if the Court grants final approval or after any appeals are resolved.” No payment date is posted.

The lawyers’ pay is separate from your benefits: “Class Counsel will ask the court to approve $285,000.00 as reasonable attorneys’ fees and reimbursement of litigation costs. This amount will be paid by Lands’ End.” The class representatives’ service awards of $2,500.00 each are also paid by Lands’ End.

What doing nothing means

The notice says “If you do nothing, you will not receive a benefit from this Settlement.” The home page adds “Unless you opt out of the Settlement, you are automatically part of the Settlement,” and you give up the right to sue Lands’ End over the claims the settlement covers.

Check that it is real

The notice states “A court has authorized this notice. This is not a solicitation from a lawyer.” File only on the official site or by mail or email to the administrator, and treat any message that asks for a fee or a bank login as suspect. The notice also says “DO NOT CONTACT THE COURT OR CLERK OF COURT REGARDING THIS SETTLEMENT.” Our October 2026 settlement deadlines guide lists the other claim windows closing this month.

Is the Lands’ End data breach settlement real? Yes. It is a class action in the Circuit Court for Iowa County, Wisconsin, Case No. 30301, with a court-authorized notice and a hearing set for November 6, 2026.

How much is the Lands’ End settlement payment? Up to $5,000 for documented losses, or an expected $60 with no proof, plus two years of credit monitoring.

What is the Lands’ End claim deadline? October 22, 2026. The opt-out and objection deadline is October 7.

Can I claim both cash payments? No. Cash Payment B is instead of Cash Payment A.

What do I need to file online? The Login ID and PIN at the top of your notice.

Where is my credit monitoring code? It was mailed by postcard. If you no longer have it, contact the administrator.

When will I be paid? After the November 6 hearing and any appeals. No date is posted.

Bottom line

If your information was involved in the December 2024 Lands’ End incident, file by October 22, 2026, online with the Login ID and PIN from your notice, or by email or mail. Use your postcard enrollment code for the two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete. Choose the expected $60 unless you have documented losses, in which case the documented route pays up to $5,000. If you would rather keep your own right to sue, the opt-out deadline is October 7, earlier than the claim deadline. Expect payment only after the November 6 hearing and any appeals.
