About Howply

What Howply covers, how every step is verified against official policies, and the editorial rules the guides follow.

Published Updated

Howply publishes step-by-step guides for the everyday tasks companies make harder than they should be: canceling a subscription, getting a refund, returning a purchase, and fixing billing problems. Every guide exists to answer one question completely: what do I click, in what order, and what happens after.

What we cover, and what we don't

  • Cancellation walkthroughs with the exact click path, verified against the company's own help pages
  • Refund and return processes: windows, eligibility branches, and where the request actually goes
  • The traps: trial cancellations that end benefits immediately, refunds that don't stop the next bill, deadlines that pass quietly

We do not publish opinion pieces, "best alternatives" rankings, or financial, legal, or medical advice. Guides describe procedures and official policies; decisions stay with you.

Editorial rules

  • Official sources only. Steps come from the company's own help center and policy pages, never from forum hearsay. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
  • The branches matter. Who billed you changes how you cancel, so guides map the cases (billed direct, via Apple or Google, via a carrier) instead of describing one happy path.
  • Dated updates. When a company changes its flow or a deadline passes, the guide is revised and the revision is noted on the page.
  • No affiliate placements, no sponsored content. Links go to official cancellation and refund pages because that is where a reader should act, not because anyone pays for placement.

Who runs it

Howply is an independent publication. Every step in every guide is checked against the official policy by a human editor before it is published, and the same editor is accountable for every correction. Nothing is published automatically. Corrections and questions are welcome through the contact page and are typically answered within a few days.
