Schnucks Rewards Settlement: How to Claim $7 by November 3
Redeemed Schnucks Rewards points at a Missouri store since 2020? File by Nov. 3 for $7. Online you choose how to be paid; on paper it is a check.
If you used Schnucks Rewards points on a purchase at a Missouri Schnucks store between May 2, 2020 and August 7, 2026, you can claim $7 by November 3, 2026. The settlement website says the case is “about whether Schnucks, in its Missouri stores, charged customers sales tax on the full pre-discount price of purchases where Rewards Points were redeemed, rather than on the lower, discounted price.” The amount is small and flat, so the useful part of this guide is how to file in a couple of minutes and avoid the one choice that changes how you get paid.
The quick answer
- Who is in: Schnucks Rewards Members who redeemed Rewards Points on tax-eligible purchases, “primarily for personal, family or household purposes,” at a Missouri Schnucks store from May 2, 2020 through August 7, 2026, in person or online
- What you get: $7.00 for each person who files a valid claim, plus a change to Schnucks’ register system by March 31, 2027
- Deadline: 11:59 p.m. Central Time on November 3, 2026 online, or a mailed claim postmarked that day
- The choice that matters: file online with the Access Code and PIN from your postcard (or the link in your email) and you pick how to be paid. File on paper and the only option is a check
- Opting out closes the same day, November 3, by postmark
- Court status: the judge has not approved the settlement yet. The hearing is December 4, 2026, and payments come after approval and any appeals

Who qualifies
The class is Schnucks Rewards Members, excluding Schnucks employees, who bought tax-eligible items at a Missouri Schnucks store while redeeming Rewards Points, “whether in-person or online.” The notice you were sent is the first sign: “If you received this notice via mail or email, then you have been identified as someone who is likely a Class Member.”
You need to have actually redeemed points on the purchase, not just earned them. If you are unsure, the FAQ points you to the website, the phone line 1-877-465-4814, or the administrator at the address below.
What the lawsuit says
The lawsuit claims Missouri sales tax was charged on the pre-discount price when points were redeemed. Schnucks’ position: “Schnucks denies it did anything wrong and denies all claims.” The court has decided nothing about who is right. Alongside the $7, Schnucks agreed to “modify its point-of-sale system to ensure Rewards Points redemptions are correctly treated as a pre-tax discount” by March 31, 2027.
How to file
Online. The online claim page asks for the PIN and Access Code on your postcard, and says “You cannot file your claim online if you do not have a unique Access Code and PIN.” If you were notified by email, the FAQ says “There is a link directly in the email you received.” When you submit, the FAQ says “you will be asked to choose your preferred payment method.” The settlement agreement says Schnucks will “strive to use PayPal and other mainstream digital payments like Venmo.”
By mail. If you got no postcard, you can download the paper form. The claim page warns “if you file a paper claim form, you may select only to receive a physical check as your form of payment and must provide correct contact information.” The agreement says the same thing in plainer terms: “Claimants who mail a physical Claim Form may elect only a physical payment method.” Mail it so it is postmarked by November 3, 2026 to Garcia v Schnuck Settlement Administrator, c/o Rust Consulting, Inc. - 9258, PO Box 2599, Faribault, MN 55021-9599. A postcard recipient who files on paper still needs the Access Code and PIN: “you must have the Access Code and PIN printed on the front of the postcard notice in order to file a claim.”
What the form asks for: your name and address, the “telephone number you provided for your Schnucks Rewards account,” and a signed confirmation that “This is your first and only claim for payment under this Settlement” and that you “primarily use your Schnucks Rewards account for personal or family or household purchases.” Keep your Rewards phone number handy, because the same phone number and email tie your account to your claim.
If you want a digital payment
The practical rule is simple: find the postcard or the email first. The codes are what open the online form, and the online form is the only route that lets you pick a payment method. If you cannot find either, ask the administrator for help before the deadline rather than defaulting to the paper form, because the check route carries its own limits.
What happens to a check
If you do take a check, the settlement agreement gives you 60 days from issue to cash it. If you do not, the check is voided and the administrator sends a second one. If that second check is not cashed within 60 days, no further check follows, except that the administrator may issue a third to someone who shows special circumstances. After that, the agreement says an uncashed check is “declared dormant on the 67th day after issuance of the second attempted check” and goes to the state where you last lived, a process called escheat.
Fixing a problem with your claim
A claim with missing or wrong information is not thrown out at once. The agreement says the administrator must send a written notice, and “Claimants shall have thirty (30) calendar days from the provision (either mailing or electronic) of such notice to provide the required information.” Keep an eye on the email and mailing address you gave.
Where the documents disagree
Where unclaimed money goes. The FAQ says uncashed payments will be “distributed to ArchCity Defenders, or another non-profit organization” and that “No unclaimed Settlement Payments will revert to Schnucks under any circumstances.” The agreement says uncashed checks escheat to the claimant’s last state of residence instead. The agreement is the controlling document, and neither says Schnucks keeps the money, but the destination is not the same in the two.
Lost postcard: paper form or codes? The online claim page says “If you did not receive a postcard notice, or have misplaced your postcard notice, you may download a claim form here.” The FAQ is stricter for people who did get a postcard: “you must have the Access Code and PIN printed on the front of the postcard notice in order to file a claim,” and the paper form has boxes for them. If you got a postcard and cannot find it, ask the administrator for the codes instead of relying on a form without them.
The website footer looks old. Every page shows “Last Updated: 9/29/2017,” which is a template date, not the case’s. The dates that matter, November 3 and December 4, are in the FAQ and notice.
Opting out, objecting, and the lawyers
Opting out means writing to the administrator, postmarked by November 3, 2026, with your name and address, “The telephone number and email address associated with your Schnucks Rewards Account,” a statement that you want out of this case, and your signature. You would get no money, and you could sue Schnucks on your own about the same issue. Objecting also closes November 3, and only members who stay in can object.
Class counsel will ask the court for up to $1,980,000 in fees and costs, and $7,000 for the class representative. Schnucks pays those separately: “no award of fees or expenses shall reduce or diminish the benefits payable to Settlement Class Members under this Agreement.” Your $7 does not shrink to cover them.
When the money comes
Payments follow approval. The FAQ says “Class Members will receive their payments after the Court grants final approval to the Settlement and any appeals are resolved.” The agreement then gives Schnucks 30 days after the settlement becomes final (or after it receives the claim data, if later) to fund the payments, and the administrator 30 days after that to send them. The FAQ says “On December 4, 2026, at 9:00 am, the Court will hold a Final Approval Hearing in Division 2,” and adds that the hearing may be moved.
What doing nothing means
If you do not file, “you will not receive any money,” and unless you opt out you still give up the right to sue Schnucks over these claims.
Check that it is real
The notice says it is “approved by the Court and not a solicitation from a lawyer.” File only on the official site or by mail to the Faribault, Minnesota address above. Nobody should ask you for a fee or for your Rewards password.
Quick answers to what people search
Is the Schnucks settlement real? Yes. It is a Missouri state court class action, No. 25SL-CC04761, with a court-approved notice and a hearing on December 4, 2026.
How much will I get? $7.00 per person with a valid claim, not a share of a pool, so it does not shrink as more people file.
What is the Schnucks claim deadline? November 3, 2026: 11:59 p.m. Central online, or postmarked that day.
I lost my postcard. Can I still claim? The claim page says you may download a paper form if you misplaced it, but the FAQ says a postcard recipient needs the Access Code and PIN to file. Call 1-877-465-4814 or email info@SchnucksTaxSettlement.com for your codes before the deadline.
Can I choose PayPal or Venmo? Only if you file online with your codes.
Do I need receipts? The form does not ask for any.
When will I be paid? After final approval and any appeals. The site has not given a date.
Bottom line
If you redeemed Schnucks Rewards points in Missouri, find your postcard or email and file online by November 3, 2026, because that is the only way to choose how you are paid. Paper works but means a check and a 60-day clock to cash it. It is $7, so the aim is two minutes and no mistakes: keep your Rewards phone number handy, file once, and watch for a notice if anything is missing.
